Manchester United offered chance to sign Tottenham flop Emmanuel Adebayor

In what may prove to be one of the most shocking moves of the summer, Tottenham have offered Manchester United the chance to sign striker Emmanuel Adebayor, the Daily Mail report.

The Togo international had appeared to be on the verge of sealing a loan move to West Ham, the Mail suggest, however, he has now decided that he wants to wait and see whether Louis van Gaal is interested in bringing him to Old Trafford.

While the Red Devils unquestionably lack the kind of depth up front that would allow them to compete on all four fronts, it would be a complete surprise to see the former Manchester City and Arsenal striker arrive at the club whether it be on a temporary or permanent basis.

When he is on his game, the 31-year-old has been fantastic. However, those occasions of ruthless form are too few and far between, and are often overshadowed by accusations of laziness, among other attributes that are forcing Spurs to desperately attempt to remove him from the wage bill.
