Manchester United host Belgian side Club Brugge in the first leg of their Champions League play-off tie on Tuesday night. Louis van Gaal will be hoping that the Red Devils can extend their perfect start to the new campaign, and give themselves a comfortable lead ahead of the second leg next week.
Here is how we expect United to line-up at Old Trafford:
The Argentinian is yet to concede since his summer move to Manchester United, and as David de Gea continues to be exiled from the matchday squad, it seems more than likely that Romero will keep his place.
RB- Matteo Darmian
Darmian has given plenty of indications that he is the man to solve their predicament in the problematic right-back area, and should continue to keep Antonio Valencia on the bench.
CB- Chris Smalling
The England international is swiftly establishing himself as the leader of the back four, having become the most reliable defender at van Gaal’s disposal.
CB- Daley Blind
Blind has done really well since he was dropped into defence. He brings the composure of a midfielder, but also boasts the ball-winning mentality of a centre-back.
LB- Luke Shaw
The 20-year-old is showing signs that he is ready to bounce back from a disappointing year last season, and should give the Belgian side plenty of things to think about down the left flank.
