Manchester United tell World Cup winner he’s no longer involved with first-team

Manchester United have ruthlessly tried to ensure that Victor Valdes is on his way out of the club this summer, according to the Daily Express.

The Express report that the 33-year-old’s kit was moved to the under-21’s dressing room, and he has since been told that he is no longer anything to do with the first-team.

The snub comes after the former Barcelona man was left out of the squad that travelled to America for pre-season, and then engaged in a public spat with Louis van Gaal (via Manchester Evening News).

The feud started publicly when the Dutchman claimed that the World Cup winner refused to play in the reserves, to which Valdes responded by asking for respect, while highlighting the fact that he had featured on several occasions for the side.

Despite the qualities that the Spaniard brings to the Red Devils, van Gaal appears to be unconcerned about losing the veteran. David de Gea remains with the club despite speculation about his future (via Express), while Sergio Romero has been brought in, and Jasper Cillessen has been linked with a summer switch (via Metro).
