Manchester United to make £32.8m bid for Brazil international

Manchester United are planning to make a late attempt to bring Lazio attacking midfielder Felipe Anderson to Old Trafford, according to the Metro.

The Red Devils are hoping that a bid of £32.8m will be enough to tempt the Serie A side into selling their key man, the Metro report.

And their task of luring the Brazil international to the Premier League may now be much easier, as while they cruised through to the group stages of the Champions League following an emphatic play-off win over Club Brugge, Lazio fell at the same hurdle.

Having fallen at a preliminary phase of the competition, Anderson would be eligible to play for Louis van Gaal’s side in the rest of the tournament. And United may be hoping that the prospect of playing in Europe’s premier club competition will do enough to convince Anderson to come to England.

Following Wayne Rooney’s hat-trick in Belgium, the need for a goalscorer is slightly less great. However, they do still need another option up front, and the 22-year-old could certainly be that option given the pace and creativity he brings.
