Arsenal have confirmed that Brazilian winger Wellington Silva has joined Championship side Bolton Wanderers on a season-long loan, the Daily
The Brazilian under-21 international has been with The Gunners since 2011, but was only recently granted a UK work permit following loans spells with five successive Spanish sides.
The 22-year-old chalked up 35 appearances for Almeria last season, but was unable to prevent them from sliding towards relegation.
Arsenal are now hoping he can gain some much needed first team experience in English football, and have sent him to Bolton for the upcoming campaign.
Bolton are also hoping that he will be able to contribute to their lacklustre attack that has failed to find the net during the opening four games of the season.
“Silva should have been playing tonight but we missed the registration time by three minutes,” manager Neil Lennon confirmed following Bolton’s 1-0 defeat to MK Dons.
“He would have made a big difference to the way we wanted to play, so he will definitely come into contention on Saturday.
“We think he is a good player and will make us better.”
Previously Bolton have loaned Jack Wilshere and Ryo Miyachi from Arsenal.
