Arsenal v West Ham confirmed line-ups: Petr Cech to make Premier League debut for Gunners

Community Shield winners Arsenal kick-off their new Premier League campaign against the team that were the first ever away side to leave the Emirates Stadium with three points. The big – but unsurprising – news is that Petr Cech will make his first league start for the Gunners.

The other big news coming from the north London side is that Arsene Wenger has decided to start with Olivier Giroud up front, while Theo Walcott is left on the bench.

Wenger is without two key men for the clash against the Hammers, with Jack Wilshere injured, while Alexis Sanchez has only just returned to training following Chile’s Copa America success.

Meanwhile, Slaven Bilic has also had to deal with injury problems. Both Enner Valencia and Andy Carroll are set to miss the opening weeks of the campaign, meaning that last season’s top goalscorer Diafra Sakho will start up front.

Angelo Ogbonna and Dimitri Payet will make their Premier League debuts, while fellow new signing Manuel Lanzini is on the bench.

Carl Jenkinson will miss the game as he is on loan from the Emirates, but 16-year-old Reece Oxford will make his Premier League debut.

Here are the teams in full:
