Sevilla midfielder ‘concerned’ Arsenal target Grzegorz Krychowiak may leave club this summer

Sevilla midfielder Vicente Iborra has conceded that he is concerned that reported Arsenal target Grzegorz Krychowiak will be leaving the La Liga side this summer, the Metro report.

The Poland international a great first season in Spain, following his move from Reims, and helped the side retain their Europa League crown. His efforts have led to plenty of speculation that another club would be willing to trigger his €30m release clause (via Metro), but Iborra is hoping that does not happen.

“Of course I’m concerned that Krychowiak could be taken away,” he said.

“I understand Sevilla’s position, it is clear. I hope nobody pays the clause and he stays with us,” he added.

The Gunners have been linked with the 25-year-old as Arsene Wenger attempts to bolster his options in the defensive midfield position.

Francis Coquelin was exceptional after being recalled from his loan spell at Charlton last season, and his emergence in the side appeared to be a light-bulb moment for Wenger that he needs some steel to complement the beautiful football his side always displays.

However, the Frenchman has been less convincing so far this season. And, if he collected an injury, the side would struggle to replace him with what is currently available.
