Tottenham have been told by Lyon that if they want striker Clinton N’Jie, they will need to offer £8.3m plus defender Federico Fazio, the Metro
Mauricio Pochettino is keen to add some more fire power in front of goal, with the Metro reporting that both Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor are set to leave White Hart Lane this summer. That would leave just Harry Kane as Spurs’ only striker option.
Their need for attacking options is much greater than their need to keep hold of Fazio, which may mean that the Premier League side are willing to meet Lyon’s demands.
While the Argentinian enjoyed a promising year for the London club, Pochettino has added Toby Alderweireld and Kevin Wimmer, which could see the 28-year-old’s opportunities limited.
Alexandre Lacazette may have stolen the majority of the headlines last season for the Ligue 1 club, but N’Jie enjoyed a lot of success also. He made 30 top flight appearances for Hubert Fournier’s side – only 15 of which came from starts – and managed to score seven goals, and bagged seven assists.
Having served Lacazette so well, with N’Jie having provided the 24-year-old with five goals last season – which made them the second most lethal pairing in France – Pochettino will be hoping that he can link up with Kane and enjoy a similarly devastating impact.
