Mario Balotelli today completed his move back to AC Milan just 12 months after arriving at Liverpool in a move he hopes will reignite his flailing career.
Having arrived as a potential replacement for Luis Suarez after he made the move to Barcelona, but struggled for form and hit just one solitary goal in the Premier League.
The Reds have bolstered their attacking ranks during the current window by bringing in the likes of Christian Benteke, Danny Ings and Roberto Firmino, leaving very little room for the Italian international.
And having been spotted in Milan on Tuesday morning, the 25-year-old has now given his first interview in front of the cameras wearing an AC shirt.
“I’m happy to be back, now I’m only waiting to start training,
“Physically I feel pretty good, I just have to train with the team. I have so much motivation.
“Did I imagine returning to Milan? Yes, I always had Milan in my heart and I always hoped to come back.
“Will I finish my career at Milan? I have to work hard and do well this year, then I’ll think about that.”
As part of the agreement, Liverpool will pay half of the former Manchester City and Inter forward’s £80,000-a-week wages during the loan spell.
