West Ham’s loan bid for Emmanuel Adebayor still possible as Tottenham consider paying some of his wages

West Ham’s loan move for Emmanuel Adebayor appears to be back on the table, after the Daily Mirror reported that Tottenham were open to the idea of paying some of his wages.

The Mirror report that the Hammers’ previous bid was turned down as they were not happy about to paying all of his £100,000 a week salary. However, Spurs’ apparent willingness to compromise means that Slaven Bilic may now be able to land the Togo international.

Should a deal be reached between the two clubs, it would almost certainly signal the end of the 31-year-old’s Tottenham career as he will be spending the final year of his contract at the Boleyn Ground.

However, if he remains as part of Mauricio Pochettino’s side until he can leave on a free next summer, it seems unlikely that he will feature again if the first three games of the campaign are anything to go by. Harry Kane has started all three games, but Adebayor has still not made the bench despite Pochettino not being able to select another forward.
