Arsenal could make late move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Despite being linked with a move for Edinson Cavani, the Metro suggest that it is the Uruguayan’s Paris Saint-Germain teammate that is more likely to be joining Arsenal on transfer deadline day.

The Metro report that Arsene Wenger fuelled speculation that he may be attempting to personally seal at least one new signing when he was seen boarding a flight to the French capital. Midfielder Adrien Rabiot  has also been linked with the Gunners (via Metro).

However, Laurent Blanc is keen to keep hold of Cavani and Rabiot, but may be much more willing to let Zlatan Ibrahimovic move to the Emirates (via Metro).

While the 33-year-old is well into the twilight of his career, his arrival would probably just about appease fans who have become disgruntled with the club’s lack of business in the window so far.

His record for the Ligue 1 side continues to suggest that he has not lost his ability to find the back of the net, so could still prove to be a useful signing for the next year or two.
