Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has told any club that is interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo that they are going to have to activate his buyout clause, which stands at an eye-watering £727m, the Daily
Manchester United and Chelsea have both been linked with trying to bring the 30-year-old back to the Premier League (via Star), while Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain have also been keen on a move, and reportedly made a bid of £110m in the latter stages of the summer window (via Daily Mirror).
However, PSG’s bid appears to be loose change in comparison with what Perez would want for his star man (via Star).
“Today, Real Madrid without Cristiano Ronaldo, it is impossible. He is the best player in the world and the most emblematic,” he said.
“If PSG want him, it is very easy. If they pay the €1000m (£727m) buy-out clause, they will have him,” he added.
The firm stance taken by Los Blancos highlights Ronaldo’s continued importance to the side. The forward is on the verge of becoming the club’s all-time leading goalscorer despite making half the number of appearances of Madrid legend Raul, who is the only man ahead of him.
