Man United to offer David De Gea £200,000-per-week to pen five-year deal

Manchester United are said to be prepared to offer goalkeeper David De Gea a stunning £200,000-per-week to keep him at the club for the next five years, according to journalist Ian Abrahams (via Metro).

The Metro claim that the 24-year-old is open to the possibility of extending his stay at Old Trafford following the collapse of a dream move to Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.

And Abrahams reports that United are ready to offer him a five-year deal that would see him become one of the best paid players at the club.

Abrahams seemingly caught wind of the story after reports in Spanish outlet El Confidencial claimed that De Gea is to imminently sign a new deal with the Red Devils.

De Gea is yet to make an appearance for United this season, having been dropped by manager Louis Van Gaal amid fears that he was not mentally ready to play, however, after featuring for Spain during the week, The Dutchman may now decide to reconsider his stance and bring him back in to the match day squad.
