And now, a report in Spanish publication AS claims that the defending Premier League champions are hoping to snap up the spine of the Atletico side by bringing Griezmann, Godin and midfielder Koke to Stamford Bridge.
However, seemingly aware of Chelsea’s interest, the Metro report that Atletico have moved to offer all three players new deals with higher buyout clauses.
And the Metro also state that Blues owner Roman Abramovic is weighing up a £14.8m offer to get Simeone out of his contract at the Vicente Calderon.
After signing Diego Costa and Felipe Luis from the La Liga giants, this latest news would suggest that Chelsea are ready to tempt Atletico once again.
