Liverpool fans may be getting excited about the prospect of Jurgen Klopp coming in to take over the managerial hot seat at Anfield, but there appears to be bad news brewing elsewhere.
Spanish publication Sport claims that influential Reds midfielder Philippe Coutinho is set to demand an exit from the club in order to allow him to link up with Barcelona.
Sport claim that the La Liga champions are in the hunt for a “versatile” attacking midfielder, with Coutinho fitting the bill perfectly.
However, the report claims that the Catalan giants would need to cough up around €30m in order to prize him away from Merseyside, though they unsuccessfully tried to do the same over the summer just gone.
But Sports also believe that Liverpool would be more open to doing a deal this time around as Coutinho would be “more willing to wear the Barca shirt” following Brendan Rodgers’ sacking this weekend.
The paper round off the story by also claiming that Real Madrid are primed to declare their own interest once it becomes clear that he wants to move on from Liverpool.
