Arsenal chiefs ‘make contact’ with PSG star over summer transfer

A team of Arsenal officials are said to be keeping contact with Paris Saint Germain striker Edinson Cavani in a bid to convince him to join the club next summer, according to the Metro.

The Gunners tried to sign the Uruguayan international during the summer transfer window after being a top long standing target (via Metro).

However, a deal could not be struck between the two clubs and the player and he remained in the French capital.

But Arsenal have not given up hope, and are said to be keeping in touch with the 28-year-old in the hope of proving to him that his long term future belongs at The Emirates Stadium.

Reports in Spain claim that Cavani’s relationship with manager Laurent Blanc is still hanging in the balance and could be convinced to head for an exit if given an attractive alternative.
