Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has admitted that he may struggle to keep Manchester United target Sadio Mane at the club following his star turn against Chelsea last weekend, according to the Metro.
The Metro report that the Senegalese international was linked with a move to Old Trafford over the summer, but The Saints refused to entertain any notion of letting him go after losing a steady stream of key players over the past two years.
Mane has been in fine form again this season, and helped Koeman’s side pile more misery on Premier League champions Chelsea on Saturday by starring in a 3-1 victory at Stamford Bridge.
However, with United set to rekindle their interest in the 23-year-old, Koeman has admitted that he is already preparing for life without the striker (via Metro).
“Maybe one day we will lose Mane but then we have to be prepared,” said Koeman.
“You know in our situation that kind of player, if they play like today (against Chelsea), there will come a lot of interest in the end of the season, but now we enjoy watching Mane in our team.”
Since joining the club in 2014, Mane has gone on to bag 14 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions for Southampton.
