Alexandre Pato is a wanted man in the Premier League. Liverpool and Chelsea will reportedly go head-to-head in order to sign the Brazilian striker, according to The
The Reds and The Blues have used the winter transfer market to search for an added goal scoring threat upfront. Both teams have struggled all season, partly by the fact that they can’t score on a consistent basis and due to injuries to their strikers.
Both clubs see Pato as a possible reinforcement in attack. The 26-year-old is currently playing for Corinthians in his home country, but has indicated fancying a comeback to Europe, mainly in the Premier League.
On top, the Brazilian club are keen to relieve Pato off their wage bill this January. They are willing to sell him for around £11 million, deemed as a cut-price deal due to his contract running out in December of this year.
Liverpool appeared to have to upper hand in signing the former AC Milan talent, but it’s said Pato would prefer to join The Blues when he leaves Corinthians for the Premier League.
Pato scored 15 goals in 47 matches during the 2014/2015 season, after leaving AC Milan. He arrived at The Rossoneri in 2007 with great potential, but never made the expected big splash. He’s recorded 63 goals in 150 matches for the Italian giants.
