Liverpool are viewing China as an ideal place to offload flop Mario Balotelli, while former boss Brendan Rodgers has been linked with a move to the Asian country as well.
The Italy international is currently on loan at AC Milan until the end of the current season, but it seems highly unlikely that the Rossoneri will make his move permanent after a disappointing spell in Serie A so far, which was not helped by a couple of injuries.
According to Liverpool
The Reds are therefore looking at the Chinese Super League, who’ve splashed a serious amount of cash to get the likes of Ramires, Alex Teixeira, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Gervinho, Fredy Guarin and Jackson Martinez to make the switch from Europe to Asia.
Balotelli scored just four goals in 28 appearances for the Reds last season, before Brendan Rodgers made the decision to send him on loan to Milan.
The former Liverpool coach could join ‘Super Mario’ to China. Despite being mentioned as a possible replacement for Roy Hodgson as England’s boss or being the next Newcastle one if the Magpies sack Steve McClaren, the Daily Mirror claim Rodgers is being sounded out by clubs in China.
