Louis van Gaal burns journalist: “Maybe I will get you sacked” [Video]

Manchester United lost two points against Chelsea with a late goal by Diego Costa, resulting in a 1-1 draw, with United fans putting the blame on Louis van Gaal for his late substitutions.

After the match, van Gaal was asked about his status as the Red Devil’s boss, with a journalist stating that although the club is trying to replace the Dutchman, these kind of performances could help show United he still has value.

Van Gaal wasn’t planning on answering the question, doubting the journalist had spoken to Ed Woodward. He responded by turning the situation around: “Maybe I will get you sacked”, he said.

United are currently ranked fifth in the Premier League table with 41 points from 25 matches. The Red Devils are just two points in front of sixth placed West Ham and have scored just 32 goals all season. Luckily, their defence has been solid, conceding only 22 times, joint second best with Arsenal behind Tottenham.

Still, the Old Trafford club is trailing the top four by a large margin. They are six points behind Manchester City, seven points behind Arsenal and Tottenham, and 12 points behind Premier League leaders Leicester City.

Therefore, they have a lot of ground to make up if they want to play Champions League football next season.

Van Gaal has been under serious scrutiny all season, with rumours surrounding he’ll be sacked during or at the end of the season, with especially José Mourinho lined up to be his replacement.
