Former Manchester City striker misses unmissable chance in Serie A [Video]

Edin Dzeko has not found his best form in Serie A. Since making a permanent €11 million switch from Manchester City to AS Roma during the summer, the Bosnian striker had registered just four league goals before this weekend’s encounter with Palermo.

On Sunday, Dzeko got the start with the Giallorossi, getting a chance to prove himself to coach Luciano Spalletti, who had previously opted to play new boy Diego Perotti.

However, the 29-year-old, who hit the net 72 times in 189 appearances for the Citizens, was able to miss an unmissable chance to open the score in the 27 minute against the Rosanero.

Dzeko was standing all alone, with an empty goal looming in front of him. But instead of hitting the net, the striker failed to score, with his team-mates in disbelief…

Luckily for Dzeko, he made up for his huge miss by scoring two goals during Roma’s dominating 5-0 win. He also registered two assists, becoming the man of the match at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. So after all, he did impress his coach…
