Chinese Super League clubs have already invested an enormous amount of money into the signings of Ramires, Jackson Martinez, Alex Teixeira, Fredy Guarin and Gervinho this transfer window.
However, the latest reports suggest that Chinese clubs are not done yet.
The 29-year old Brazilian international signed for Zenit in a £46 million deal from Porto in 2012 and he helped his club win the 2014-15 Russian League title.
In another story, the Telegraph are reporting that Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has been offered a £30 million-a-year contract to move to China during the summer of 2016.
The Ivorian’s future at the Etihad Stadium is in doubt following the confirmation of Pep Guardiola.
Toure departed from Barcelona while Guardiola was in charge of the Catalan club and his arrival could mean the curtains for Toure’s career at Man City.
Various reports have suggested that Guardiola is planning a summer overhaul of the Citizen’s squad and Toure might not feature in the Spaniard’s plans.
However, the 32-year-old is not short of suitors, and three Chinese clubs have already expressed their interest in signing the midfielder.
According to the report, one club, Jiangsu Suning, have offered a deal worth £30m-a-year to Toure. This means that he would stand to earn £576,923-a-week in China, while earning a £240,000-a-week salary with his current contract in the Premier League.
