Arsenal fan and well-known journalist Piers Morgan has claimed that Arsene Wenger has been offered a new three-year deal by the club.
The Frenchman’s current deal expires at the end of the next season and another three years will see him stay at the club until 2020. Wenger has come under severe criticism of late for Arsenal’s performances this season, and the report of a new deal hasn’t quite gone down well with some fans.
However, Wenger still has a strong backing among club faithful and some fans have welcomed the news.
Morgan, who is known to be anti-Wenger, is not at all pleased.
I’ve been told on very good authority that Wenger’s been offered a new 3-yr contract by Arsenal.
If true, utterly outrageous. #afc— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) March 27, 2016
Have you offered Wenger a new contract @Arsenal? If so, how can you possibly justify it on his performance over last 11 years? #afc

If Wenger does get a 3yr deal then it shows you exactly where @Arsenal are heading…towards mediocrity. #afc

Everything must be done to prevent Wenger from signing a new contract. Indeed he must go this summer, no matter what. #afc #WengerOut
