Real Madrid and Chelsea reportedly have agreed a deal in principle for Eden Hazard to move to the Santiago Bernabeu, according to AS and as reported by Goal.
The Spanish news outlet reports that the Primera Division giants have beaten Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign the Belgian.
The 25-year-old is said to be unsettled at Stamford Bridge after a disappointing season, scoring just two goals in 38 appearances for the Blues.
AS also reports that Chelsea have put a £78 million valuation on Hazard, who has a contract until 2020 and won Premier League’s Player of the Year honours last season. Recent reports elsewhere, like at ESPN FC, have suggested that a swap deal involving Real’s James Rodriguez could be in order.
Belgium manager Marc Wilmots recently revealed that his star player could be out for up to a month after leaving him out of his latest squad.
The Chelsea winger went off with an injury during the Blues’ 2-1 loss against Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie earlier this month, and has not recovered in time for the upcoming friendly fixture against Portugal.
