Manchester City preparing monster offer to land marquee player, veteran star in talks to leave

It’s been a disappointing season for Manchester City. Despite reaching the quarter-finals in the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history, the Citizens are lagging too far behind in order to win the Premier League title.

It’s still mathematically possible for City to catch Leicester, but trailing by 15 points is huge. And let’s not forget, Tottenham and Arsenal are also currently ranked above them.

Therefore, it’s time for the Citizens to hold on to their top four spot, which would mean another season of Champions League football, and to look forward to next season, when Pep Guardiola is taking over as their coach.

According to Spanish news outlet Sport, the Spaniard is keen on bringing Paul Pogba to Manchester and will battle it out with Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane to sign the Juventus star.

City are ready to pay as much as £75 million to the Old Lady, while also offering Pogba £15.8 million per season. Guardiola would like the deal done before Euro 2016, as the Frenchman’s value could increase even more.

It remains to be seen if such an offer will be enough to land the 23-year-old, as Chelsea had an offer between £71 million and £75 million for Pogba turned down last summer.

In any case, Guardiola will be keen on signing a strong midfielder, as ESPN FC reports that Yaya Toure is set to leave Manchester City in the summer, with Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich all interested in signing the Ivorian midfielder.

Toure’s adviser Dimitry Seluk revealed that he has begun talks with European clubs about a transfer for his client.
