Chelsea hand trial to “non-League Riyad Mahrez”, talented defender refuses early loan return

Leicester City are steamrolling towards a shock Premier League title win, with Riyad Mahrez’s Player of ther Year performances leading the Foxes from the start of the season.

The Algerian joined the Foxes for just £375k during the winter transfer period in 2014. Now, The Daily Mail has revealed that Chelsea are looking to copy Leicester’s winning strategy by handing a trial to Yasin Ben El-Mhanni, a player who has earned the nickname of the ‘non-League Riyad Mahrez.’

The 20-year-old joined Lewes FC from Farnborough in the summer of 2015 and has been a serious Youtube hit with his football skills. He trained with the Blues this week and is also followed by Norwich City and…Leicester.

Meanwhile, Andreas Christensen will reject the opportunity to terminate his loan at Borussia Monchengladbach early to return to Chelsea, according to The Guardian.

The 19-year-old Danish defender signed from Brondby in 2012 and joined the Bundesliga club on a two-year loan deal last summer. He’s appeared in 24 league games, scoring three goals. Chelsea have been rumoured to want him back at Stamford Bridge, with Nathan Ake going to Germany in return. However, Christensen is said to prefer first-team over a role on the bench.

In other news, the Blues want to raid Inter for winger Ivan Perisic and central midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, according to Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport. Additionally, Juventus are plotting a £24million move for Blues midfielder Oscar, says Tuttosport (via talkSPORT).
