Manchester United to use Anthony Martial in huge swap deal?

Manchester United are in need of a huge overhaul if they plan on competing for the Premier League title next season.

There have been many rumours about potential transfer targets, with the Red Devils also reportedly looking to replace coach Louis van Gaal after the current season ends.

United have been linked on several occasions to PSG star Edinson Cavani and, according to reports in Italy and as reported by Goal, the Old Trafford club are considering using Anthony Martial to lure the Uruguayan to England.

The 20-year-old French striker joined the Red Devils this summer, as the club reportedly payed £37.5 million to Monaco. Martial has scored 12 goals in 44 appearances and is believed to be the new Thierry Henry.

However, United have struggled this season, sitting sixth in the league, risking to miss out on European football next season. They were also eliminated in the Champions League group stages, while facing a 2-0 deficit during the return in the round of 16 in the Europa League against Liverpool.

Therefore, they could use an experienced striker in order to compete for the title next season, and Cavani could be that man. The 29-year-old has scored 19 goals this season, but is expected to leave PSG. United have a chance to lure in Cavani, but face competition from the likes of Chelsea and Juventus.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are also readying a bid for Roma winger Alessandro Florenzi. The Red Devils are said to be offering £24 million for the 25-year-old, who can operate both in midfield and at right-back.
