West Ham United are set to make a move for former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, as they prepare a £20 million offer, according to the Brentwood Gazette.
The Hammers are enjoying a splendid Premier League season, as they are ranked fifth in the standings with 50 points, firmly in the hunt for a Champions League ticket, trailing fourth-placed Manchester City by just one point.
With their move to the Olympic Stadium edging closer every day, the East London club have been linked with a bunch of strikers as they look to mark their move with a marquee signing.
Coach Slaven Bilic has been a great fan of Marseille’s Michy Batshuayi, while also being linked with Liverpool’s Christian Benteke. Now, a new name has entered the transfer talks surrounding the Hammers: Edin Dzeko.
The Bosnian striker completed a permanent move to the Italian giants AS Roma in October, having previously joined the club on loan from Manchester City, and has scored nine goals in all competitions this season.
However, the Roman club could be persuaded to sell the 30-year-old, as he has not lived up to the expectations and Roma have signed the likes of Stephan El Shaarawy and Diego Perotti.
