Arsenal are set for a major overhaul in the summer transfer window. Following a disappointing finish to the season, Arsene Wenger has already set the wheels in motion for the upcoming transfer window.
According to a report in The Sun, the Gunners have set their eyes on Leicester City duo N’Golo Kante and Riyad Mahrez.
Recent reports have linked the North London club with a move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka, but the Sun claims that the Gunners will only move for Xhaka if they fail to sign Kante.
Arsenal are set to allow Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini to leave the club in the summer, and Wenger wants to improve his midfield options.
Kante, who featured in the PFA Team of the Year, has impressed Wenger with his energetic performances this season and the French manager has made him his number one transfer target.
Another player on Wenger’s wish list is Kante’s teammate Riyad Mahrez. The report states that Wenger has made up his mind to let Theo Walcott leave the club in the summer and wants Mahrez as his replacement.
The Algerian international was awarded the PFA Player of the Year award earlier this week for his outstanding performances for the Foxes this season.
