Chelsea have received a huge setback in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos.
The Blues, along with Manchester United, were strongly linked with a move for the Brazilian defender. However, if the latest report from Goal.com is to be believed, the centre-back has agreed terms with La Liga giants Barcelona.
According to the report, the Catalan club have offered an annual salary of around £3.6 million, in addition to £2.4 million signing-on fee to the 21-year old.
Barcelona are yet to reach an agreement with the Paris club over the transfer. They have tabled an initial bid of £36 million and are ready to increase it to £40 million, but PSG seem reluctant to part with their player.
Meanwhile, according to reliable Italian source Gianluca Di Marzio, the Blues have opened transfer negotiations to sign AS Roma’s Radja Nainggolan.
According to the report, officials from the London club have already met Roma’s sporting director Walter Sabatini as well as Nainggolan’s agent, Remy Abbas, and talks are said to be in advanced stage.
The Blues are understood to have bid £28 million for the 27-year-old Belgian international.
