Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy was shown his marching orders during the 2-2 draw with West Ham on Sunday.
Following his suspension, Vardy was supposed to miss the league game against Swansea, but now the striker has been hit with a charge of improper conduct by the FA, which would see his suspension increased by one game.
Vardy supposedly called match referee Jon Moss a “f**king c*nt” after Moss showed him a second yellow for diving at King Power Stadium.
The 29-year-old’s outburst following the red card was reported by Moss in his match report and based on that the FA have decided to charge the striker.
The Foxes currently lead the second-placed Tottenham by five points and Vardy’s absence could prove to be vital in the last four games of the season. The 29-year-old has scored a total of 22 Premier League goals, trailing only Spurs’ Harry Kane in the scoring table, while recently also hitting his first international goals for England.
As usual, there were different opinions on Twitter regarding the suspension.

So much criticism of ref at #LCFC v #WHUFC. So little criticism of the players who tried to con him. Have people stopped caring about that?

Not to mention the outrage should Vardy be disciplined for pointing at the ref and calling him a ‘fucking cunt.’ https://t.co/pBeOaAtkas

Don’t be ridiculous. Perhaps while they’re at it they might rescind the first yellow card. https://t.co/sovOVe0o8X

Players should be punished for any kind of abuse of referees. Immediate yellow card. Said this for years. If this is the start then great.

I’m captivated by Leicester story but find it hard to object to FA charging Vardy. Intimidation of refs huge issue at all levels of football

Can’t have too many complaints if Vardy’s ban is indeed extended, but how many other players have escaped doing exactly the same thing?
