Jose Mourinho badly hurt Chelsea’s bid for Romelu Lukaku

Everton’s Romelu Lukaku has scored a total of 18 Premier League goals this season and has been linked with a big transfer next summer.

The 22-year-old joined the Toffees from Chelsea for £28 million two years ago and has revealed he’s ready to take the next step in his career, having a desire to play Champions League football.

The likes of Juventus, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich have been linked to Lukaku, but incoming Chelsea coach Antonio Conte has been said to be a fan of the Belgian, according to The Daily Mail.

However, Everton are expected to demand at least £60 million for their striker, who’s said to have “unfinished business” at Stamford Bridge, while Jose Mourinho looks to haunt Chelsea in this transfer saga.

The Daily Telegraph reported that the Blues had been open to the idea of accepting a lower fee for Lukaku from Everton and including a buy-back clause in the deal so that he could be taken back to Stamford Bridge for a reasonable fee. However, the Portuguese told the club not to negotiate such a clause…

Another report by Sky Germany, via The Daily Express, claimed that Lukaku has at some point this season been shown around at Borussia Dortmund’s training facility ahead of a possible summer move.

The Bundesliga giants could potentially lose topscorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and are considering the Belgian as a replacement for the Gabon striker, who’s been linked to the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid.
