Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has been at the receiving end of some scathing criticism from United fans this season.
Despite the criticism, Louis Van Gaal has stuck with the midfielder of late and the Belgian played a significant role in United’s 2-1 win over Everton in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday.
However, his future at Old Trafford still remains far from certain and Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has added to the speculation by linking him with a move to AS Roma.
The newspaper reports that Fellaini was present at Roma’s 1-0 win over Napoli on Monday night. The report reckons that Roma are in search of a central midfielder and could be interested in signing Fellaini in the summer.
Roma are set to lose Seydou Keita as his contract expires in the summer. The likes of Radja Nainggolan and Miralem Pjanic are also expected to leave the club in the summer, with Chelsea being a likely destination for both.
Fellaini is valued at around £12 million by the report and it claims that Roma could also explore the possibility of signing him on a loan move with a view to a permanent transfer.
