Liverpool compete with Dortmund for midfielder, also interested in Sevilla star

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud. The Guardian claims that the Reds are competing with Borussia Dortmund for the signing of the highly rated 20-year-old.

The Under-21 Germany international has broken through in the Monchengladbach squad this season and has already attracted the attention of major European clubs with his performances. He has scored four goals and provided seven assists in 28 league appearances this season.

Monchengladbach are also set to lose another midfielder in Granit Xhaka this summer, possibly to Arsenal, and might not prefer to let Dahoud go during the same transfer window. However, an offer of more than £24 million might force the Bundesliga club to relinquish their position.

Spanish publication Don Balon has reported that Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has shifted his focus from Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen to Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico.

The 22-year-old is one of the most highly-rated goalkeepers in La Liga and has already been called up to the Spain
national squad.

He made his debut for the La Liga club last season and quickly established himself in the starting eleven. He started for Sevilla in the Europa League final triumph over FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk last year.
