Christian Eriksen has verbally agreed a new and improved contract with Tottenham that will see him earn around £60,000 a week as Spurs look to reward the Dane for his performances, according to Squawka.
The 24-year-old playmaker arrived at White Heat Lane at the end of the 2013 summer transfer market, as Tottenham paid £11 million to Dutch giants Ajax for his services.
Since, Eriksen has been one of the Spurs’ best and most promising players, providing 23 goals and 25 assists in 95 Premier League appearances for the club. He’s also known for his versatility, as the Denmark international is able to play in midfield, on both wings, and even as a creative striker.
Eriksen has been in talks with Tottenham for quite some time now, but he has made it very clear that he’s only willing to sign his new deal at White Heat Lane if coach Mauricio Pochettino remains with the club.
The Argentine is in discussions over a new five-year contract worth £25 million and is expected to sign the new deal in the summer. However, Pochettino has attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid over the course of Tottenham’s impressive season.
