Manchester United on the outlook for a centre-back

Following his appointment at Manchester United, Jose Mourinho has already started making transfer plans for the Old Trafford club.

After a lengthy period of speculation, the Portuguese manager was finally announced as United’s manager, signing a three-year deal for the Red Devils.

Reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has now linked Zlatan Ibrahimovic and a host of the players with moves to Old Trafford.

Romano tweeted that United are already in talks with the 34-year-old Swedish international, and are also interested in Juventus striker Alvaro Morata. He also claimed that United are keeping tabs on Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes.

He added that signing a centre-back is a priority during the summer transfer window for United and the club are already looking at a number of options.

The Italian journalist, who writes for Sky Sports, Guardian, and Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, mentioned Roma’s Kostas Manolas, Everton’s John Stones, Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane and Zenit St. Petersburg’s Ezequiel Garay as possible targets for Jose Mourinho’s side.
