Manchester United are in discussions over a sensational double swoop for Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane and Sporting CP winger Joao Mario, according to The Daily Star.
The Red Devils will spend £30 million to land Varane, who joined Los Blancos in 2011 from Lens in a £7.50 million transfer. The 23-year-old has been frustrated by a lack of playing time under Zinedine Zidane and has been rumoured to be considering a move away from La Liga.
However, if the report is to be believed, Varane will ony join the Old Trafford club if Jose Mourinho is appointed as their manager for next season.
United are willing to go up to £45 million for Mario, who rose through the youth ranks at the Portuguese club before making the leap to the senior team in the summer of 2014. The 23-year-old has provided six goals and 11 assists in Liga NOS this season.
Meanwhile, United are in danger of losing out on another top summer target, after seeing Portuguese sensation Renato Sanches signing a contract at Bayern Munich.
According to l’Equipe, Paris Saint-Germain have opened talks with Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann’s entourage, though they would likely need to pay around £55 million to the Liga outfit.
The France international, who’ll be competing for his country at Euro 2016, joined Atletico in 2014 from Real Sociedad in a £22.50 million transfer and has scored 31 goals in 52 appearances in all competions this summer.
