Arsenal are closing on a move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka, according to reports in Germany.
The Swiss international has long been linked with Arsenal and according to German news outlet Sport 1, his move to Emirates Stadium is imminent.
The report claims that the deal between the clubs has been sorted out and will cost the North London club somewhere between £24 million and £32 million.
The 23-year-old, who signed for Monchengladbach in 2012, has a deal until with 2020 with the Bundesliga club.
In one of the boldest transfer rumours of the day, Manchester United have been linked with a move for Arsenal star Mesut Ozil.
Italian website TuttoMercatoWeb claim that incoming United manager Jose Mourinho wants to sign the German international following his arrival at Old Trafford. The Portuguese manager has previously worked with Ozil at Real Madrid and holds him in high regard.
However, it is very unlikely that the Gunners will sell their star player to a direct rival. Ozil’s current deal with Arsenal runs until 2018, and he is reportedly involved in talks over a new deal.
