One defender in, one out at Liverpool

Liverpool have been linked with a £15m move for VfB Stuttgart defender Antonio Rudiger, according to reports in Italy.

Italian source Calcio Mercato claims that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the defender and wants to bring him to Anfield in the summer.

The 23-year-old is currently playing for Serie A club AS Roma on a loan move. He has been a regular fixture in the Giallorossi’s squad this season and has made 36 appearances in all competitions.

However, Chelsea’s incoming manager Antonio Conte is also said to be interested in the German international.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have released left-back Jose Enrique from his contract, according to the Express.

The 30-year-old was out of contract in the summer, but both parties mutually agreed to end his contract prematurely so that he can look for a new club.

Enrique, who was signed by Kenny Daglish from Newcastle for £5 million in 2011, managed only 12 appearances in all competitions for the Reds during previous two seasons. He was on a £65,000-a-week contract at Anfield.
