Leicester City have only won their first ever Premier League title a couple of days ago, but the Foxes are already on the outlook to strengthen their current squad.
Coach Claudio Ranieri has begun putting together a summer wishlist for his team, and is looking to add at least one star striker. Liverpool’s Christian Benteke could be that one according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Goal), as the Belgium international has not lived up to the expectations at Anfield.
Benteke joined the Reds in a £35 million transfer from Aston Villa last summer, but the 25-year-old was relegated to a bench role under coach Jurgen Klopp and has scored just eight league goals this season.
The same report also states that the Foxes are interested in a move for Roma defender Kostas Manolas. The Greece international has been heavily linked with Chelsea and is rated at around £20 million. Marseille midfielder Nampalys Mendy is also seen as an option.
Leicester have an alternative for Benteke, as they are weighing up a summer move for Juventus striker Simone Zaza, with the Italy international willing to listen to any offer from the Foxes as he plots his departure from the Serie A champions, according to Sport Mediaset (via Football-Italia).
The 24-year-old joined Juve last summer in a £13.5 million deal with Sassuolo and has scored eight goals in 22 appearances in all competitions. However, Zaza has been the Bianconeri’s fourth option upfront and it is believed the Italy international wants a bigger role.
Last but not least, Leicester are targeting a move for Borussia Monchengladbach’s Thorgan Hazard, one of two little brothers of Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, according to Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws (via Goal).
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder joined the Bundesliga outfit last summer in a £6 million transfer from Chelsea and has provided five goals and six assists in 34 appearances, including four in the Champions League.
