Louis Van Gaal gave one of the most awkward interviews ever to defend Marouane Fellaini [Video’s]

Maroune Fellaini found himself in the eye of the storm once again after elbowing Robert Huth during Manchester United’s 1-1 draw against Leicester City at Old Trafford.

The Belgium international wrestled his opponent in the box during the 21th minute of play, with the score already set at 1-1 after goals from Anthony Martial and Wes Morgan. Huth pulled Fellaini’s hair, but the Belgian reacted with a vicious elbow to the defender’s chin and a second swing at his face.

Referee Michael Oliver and his assistents didn’t notice both players’ actions, so the game went on without any cards shown to Fellaini and Huth.

Off course, the replay was shown pretty quickly and Fellaini could (and should) be banned for throwing an elbow at Huth, despite the latter one pulling the Red Devil’s hair.

However, United manager Louis Van Gaal had a different opinion about the incident. According to the Dutchman, the Red Devils should have been given a penalty for what Huth was doing to his player, while grabbing the reporter’s hair and asking: “Shall I grab you with your hair? What would your reaction be?”

Van Gaal also stated Fellaini’s reaction was normal and believed pulling someone’s hair should only be allowed with sexual masochism.
