Manchester City got eliminated from the Champions League on Wednesday, as the Citizens lost 1-0 at the hands of Real Madrid in their return encounter in the semi-finals at the Santiago Bernabeu.
It’s been an up and down season for City, as they lacked the necessary consistency to contend for the Premier League title, despite reaching all-time heights on Europe’s biggest stage.
Still, with Pep Guardiola coming in as their new manager and an exciting core of talented players already in place, there’s no need for City fans to doubt the club’s plans for next season.
One of their bright spots all season has been Kelechi Iheanacho, the 19-year-old Nigerian striker who was promoted to the senior squad last summer.
Despite his young age, Iheanacho has made the most of his opportunities this season. He has scored seven goals in 24 league appearances and 610 minutes, scoring once every 87 minutes. This gives him a spot in Europe’s most lethal strikers this season.
Roma legend Francesco Totti leads all strikers with at least five goals, scoring once every 66 minutes. Just one minute better than Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
