Manchester United to launch massive transfer bids, facing huge competition for star striker

With Jose Mourinho expected to be announced as Manchester United’s new manager this week, the transfer rumour mill hasn’t stopped spinning.

The Red Devils remain the only Premier League club Zlatan Ibrahimovic has considered during the past few months, but according to a report by Sky Sports, United are facing serious competition from an unnamed Chinese club that have tabled a deal worth £53 million over two years.

Meanwhile, United have held talks with Kostas Manolas’s agent regarding a summer move for the Roma centre-back, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio. Manolas joins a list of defensive target of the Old Trafford club, who are ready to bid £30.5 million.

Mourinho also wants to launch two massive bids for a duo of winger. The Portuguese wants to bid £60 million to bring Chelsea winger Willian to Old Trafford. The Brazilian was one of few players to impress before Mourinho was sacked by the Blues in 2015-16, according to The Sun.

On top, United are ready to launch a £54 million bid for Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguez. The midfielder’s image rights are part-owned by a firm linked to Jose Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes, according to The Daily Mail.
