Only one Premier League club makes top 10 most prolific teams of the 2015/2016 season

The 2015/2016 football season in the five biggest European competitions (England, Italy, Spain, Germany and France) has been officially over since Manchester United beat Bournemouth 3-1 on Tuesday.

Time to take at look at two very interesting statistics using Goal’s Huawei Team Ranking: the amount of goals per game by the 98 clubs in Europe’s Big Five and the average conversion rate those clubs finished their chances.

Goals per game:

1. FC Barcelona – 2.95

2. Real Madrid – 2.89

3. Paris Saint-Germain 2.68

4. Borussia Dortmund – 2.41

5. Bayern Munich – 2.35

6. AS Roma – 2.18

7. Napoli – 2.11

8. Borussia Monchengladbach – 1.97

9. Juventus – 1.97

10. Manchester City – 1.87

This means only one Premier League club makes the top here, Manchester City. Six English clubs are ranked between place 11 and 20: Tottenham (1.82), Leicester City (1.79), Arsenal (1.71), West Ham (1.71), Liverpool (1.66), and Everton (1.55). But it’s pretty obvious Barcelona and Real are untouchable in this regard.

Chance conversion:

1. FC Barcelona – 22.58 per cent

2. Paris Saint-Germain – 21.12

3. Borussia Dortmund – 19.76

4. Real Madrid – 19.40

5. OG Nice – 18.95

6. Borussia Monchengladbach – 18.82

7. AS Roma – 18.32

8. Leicester City – 17.22

9. Everton – 17.10

10. Manchester United – 16.72

The Citizens might have scored the most goals per game in the Premier League, but don’t make the top 10 when it comes to chance conversion. Again, Barcelona lead the way in this regard, with Leicester being England’s best at finishing their chances. Manchester United are ranked 10th, despite scoring just 49 goals this season.
