Manchester United had to play Bournemouth two days after a fake bom was discovered at Old Trafford, as their encounter on Sunday was abandoned.
The Red Devils couldn’t afford a loss against The Cherries, as they were eager to jump Southampton and claim the fifth place in the Premier League standings, securing a spot in the Europa League even if they don’t win the FA Cup.
Wayne Rooney helped his team by putting them up 1-0 just before the break, scoring his 100th goal at Old Trafford. Not surprisingly, Twitter celebrated the England striker:

Wayne Rooney scores his 100th Premier League goal at Old Trafford. Only Thierry Henry has more PL goals at 1 stadium (114 at Highbury).

It baffles me how people think Rooney is over rated and shouldn’t be in the England squad 😩

The most important player on the pitch isn’t always the best player on the pitch, and Rooney is a good example of that
