England drop spot in bookmakers’ Euro 2016 rankings

England survived Group B at Euro 2016 and are through to the round of 16 in France, where they will face Iceland on Monday June 27 in the Allianz Riviera in Nice.

The Three Lions surprisingly finished second behind Wales and that has had some consequences with the bookmakers. Website oddschecker.com keeps track of the Euro 2016 bets of 27 bookmakers, among them Unibet, Bwin, Betway, Bet365 and Paddypower.

France still lead the way with a four to one chance to win the competition on their home soil. That’s lower than the three to one chance they received before the tournament started on June 10. Germany are, once again, ranked second with a five to one chance. Defending champions Spain are third with an eleven to two chance.

Belgium have surpassed England and are now ranked fourth with a six to one chance to lift their first major international trophy. The Three Lions come in fifth with a ten to one chance. The same as Croatia, who jumped from 25 to one to become one of Euro 2016’s favourites. Next are Italy with a sixteen to one chance.

Wales have a 25 to one chance – the same as Poland – while the Republic of Ireland are boosting a chance of 125 to one and Northern Ireland a chance of 250 to one, being ranked in last place behind Slovakia.
