Manchester United and Southampton have both made offers for Adam Ounas and are waiting to hear back from Ligue 1 club Bordeaux.
According to a report by French news outlet RMC, both Premier League clubs have joined the race to sign the France Under-20 international, who’s been dubbed the new Riyad Mahrez.
The 19-year-old has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in France after breaking onto the Ligue 1 scene last season, providing five goals and two assists in 23 league appearances for Bordeaux, who finished 11th in Ligue 1.
The report claims that six teams are currently fighting for the signature of Ounas, with the Red Devils reportedly ready to make an offer of £7.9 million to make the winger Jose Mourinho’s second signing at Old Trafford following the capture of Eric Bailly from Nantes.
United are facing competition from three Premier League clubs: Southampton, Stoke City and an unnamed club. Meanwhile, Serie A giants Napoli and Bundesliga newcomers RB Leipzig are also interested in the 19-year-old.
The Daily Mail reported earlier this month that Ounas is valued at £20 million by the French club.
