No Real Madrid bid for Man Utd stopper

Real Madrid are yet to make a move for Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea, despite reports that the Spanish club were looking to renew their interest in the Spain number one.

Last Summer Madrid nearly completed a move for De Gea, however the transfer window shut before all paperwork could be processed on a £29.3m move – the delay was something that Real accused United of doing on purpose, in order to prevent their number one making an Old Trafford exit.

As such, it has largely been expected that the deal would pick up where it left off this summer, however a report in Spanish daily AS suggests the offer is conspicuous by its absence.

The club have until June 15th to trigger a £40m release clause, however it is thought that Zinidine Zidane may have different intentions compared to Rafa Benitez, who was in charge of the Champions League winners last summer. Zidane is thought to be content with current ‘keeper Keylor Navas.

Dea Gea, 25, will line-up as number one for Spain this summer in the European Championships 2016 in France, where they will battle it out in Group D with Czech Republic, Turkey, and Croatia.
