Arsenal suffer major setbacks in their transfer pursuits

Yesterday, we reportedabout how Arsenal are going to be very busy in the transfer window.

However, the Gunners’ transfer plans have suffered some roadblocks if the latest reports are to be believed.

Evening Standard has reported that Leicester City striker has informed his England teammates that he is almost certain to reject the offer to join Arsenal.

The report has very specifically stated that Vardy is 80% sure of playing for the Foxes next season.

The Gunners have earlier met Vardy’s £20million clause and verbally agreed on a three-year contract- with an option for an additional year- with the England international.

However, Vardy’s head has seemed to turn by the Foxes’ counter-offer on the table.

Arsenal were also said to be leading the pursuit of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

According to Twitter ITK Jan Aage Fjortoft, Manchester United have also joined the pursuit and they are the current favourites to sign the Armenia international.

The former Norwegian international claims that Mkhitaryan has the same agent as United-bound Zlatan Ibrahimovic and that could play in the favour of the Red Devils.
