Liverpool are preparing a £25 million swoop for their top summer target Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud.
English newspaper The Guardian claims that the Germany Under-21 international is the main priority in the transfer market for Reds manager Jurgen Klopp following the arrival of Sadio Mane from Southampton.
However, the Bundesliga club are not too keen on selling their talented 20-year-old in the same window as Granit Xhaka. Dahoud scored five goals and provided nine assists in 41 appearances in all competitions in his first full-season with Monchengladbach last year.
Liverpool are also embroiled in a bidding war for Udinese winger Piotr Zielinski, according to talkSPORT.
The Reds have maintained an interest in the Polish international for quite some time and are now facing competition from AC Milan and Napoli for his services.
The report also claims that the Merseysiders have already lodged a formal bid of £11 million for the player. The 22-year-old, who spent last two seasons on loan at Empoli, is expected to return to Udinese ahead of the upcoming season.
